A city in ruins, there was rubble everywhere. As he walked through what was left of the streets, Jean's eyes followed the destruction this way and that, wondering all the while if anyone had survived whatever attack had befallen this place. It all seemed so familiar, with a look that was the same as the ruined cities that he knew of from his own time. But here, right now, this place was still supposed to be filled with life, not reduced to a pile of metal scraps and broken buildings. What happened...?
The boy kicked at a chunk of metal in the street, it flew a few feet through the air before landing back down with a clang. What a disappointment... He had thought this place would be better, nicer, but it was no different at all from the place he had grown up in.

Daikon had been carrying some rubble to a pile that he was making. The pile use to be another building that was leveled by the attack from Frieza and his goons. The World Military didn't stand a chance against them. It was a reckless effort that could of been saved for later. Well, really it wouldn't have mattered due to their immense power.
He noticed that there was a young boy here, kicking metal around. He dropped the rubble into the pile as he turned his attention to the boy. The rocks and metal crashing to join the rest, as his destination was now changed to the boy.
Daikon had never seen him around here before, so he wondered who he was. Speaking up as he got closer to him, Daikon would try to meet the boys eyes. "Hey, you know it isn't all that safe around here right?"

Oh! A sign of life. Finally Jean had stumbled upon a person... or, the person had stumbled upon him. Whatever the case, he was a bit surprised to see someone else walking amidst the mess that used to be a city. As far as his own reasons were concerned, well, this was the nearest place to where their time machine had landed and Jean was afraid of the possible consequences that might end up resulting from his decision to board it in the first place...
His attention turned toward the owner of the voice, telling him that the area wasn't safe. "It isn't?" the boy stopped walking and glanced about curiously, but saw nothing that seemed to be particularly life threatening in the general area. He certainly didn't see that evil doctor guy lurking about. "But this place just seems kinda empty to me..." he noted as his eyes turned toward the older male, who also happened to be the first person from this time period that Jean had managed to encounter. That fact at least made this exciting.

Daikon grinned at the boy as he looked around. There wasn't anyone around that was worth causing a major alert for. He just didn't really want the boy to do anything that would give them reason to come out here. He was sure if he knew of this place, then there was no reason to be here, for outsiders that is.
"Well, I'm saying it isn't safe here, if you don't know how to hide around here. Or know who to talk to, to survive out here."

"Okay..." he didn't want to argue with the teenager, although that didn't mean he was afraid of whatever made this place supposedly unsafe... The older boy should know though what was safe and what was dangerous in his own time, while the younger was only a... guest here. Might as well go along with whatever he was told, for now.
Still though, Jean wondered if the kid was only trying to scare him or something. But he would have to do better than that if his goal really was to unnerve the young saiyan! "Well... I am talking to you. Uh... what's your name?"

Daikon smiled at the boy but kept his distance from him. He didn't want to get to make the boy uneasy and come of as a possible threat. No, what he wanted to do was make sure he was safe, seeing as how he seemed a little lost. He did walk up to him and extended his hand out to him.
"Well, you choose the right person to talk to. Name's Daikon, what's your name? I haven't seen you around these parts before. Are you passing through or take shelter here?" He knew he was asking a lot of question to the boy for just having meet him, but he wanted to do what he could for everyone that he met.

The light-haired boy took the hand that was offered to him and shook it in greeting. "I'm Jean," after introducing himself he let go of the other's hand. Daikon seemed a friendly enough person.
"I was just looking around," the boy didn't mind answering these types of questions, so long as the person he was talking to didn't work for Dr. Hypnos. And that didn't seem likely in Jean's mind. Anyway, now it was his turn to ask questions, he wanted to learn more about what was going on. "You're telling me people actually still live here? Why...?"

Daikon grinned and scratched the back of his with his other hand as the boy asked the question. It seemed that not no one realized people still were in this place of ruins. That was a good sign, meant that Frieza and his goons really wouldn't take notice of this place. He slipped his hands in his pockets then after and looked the boy in his eyes.
"Well yes, people have taken shelter here. Most of them didn't have any other place to go, so they came back. I stick around and do what I can to better their survival. Glad to know that people think this place is inhabitable though. Means that Frieza and his goons wont be snooping around here for the time being." He looked towards the sky as he went on talking. Like he was expecting for the people he spoke of to show up now.

Oh... well that made sense, and Jean knew that his father would understand these people's situation all too well. Better than Jean could himself, although he could still empathize a little bit with the people who were trying to remain living in this city of ruins...
Wait... what? "Frieza? But that's not..." Jean was surprised to hear a name that was different from the one he'd been expecting to hear about. This wasn't right, it wasn't what he had been told about. Did this mean that this Frieza had... killed the mad doctor? "What about Dr. Hypnos? Where's he?"

Daikon raises an eyebrow as he is more worried about the Doctor. He never seen the man in action himself or seen him period. The only thing he knew was that Dr. Hypnos was the one that lead them to the world they had today. The boy wish he could do something about it but he knew he wasn't strong enough to stand up to them yet.
He placed his hands into his pockets as he shrugged at his question. "Honestly, the Doctor, to me, is only known mostly by name. I have never seen him, I only know that Frieza and his goons work for him. They are the ones who did this to the city and take out any threats." He kept his eyes on the boy, curious as to why he would ask such a question. This he come from another world or something?

"Ohhh," the boy crossed his arms and nodded his head up and down. That made sense then, of course, bad guys always had underlings didn't they? So Dr. Hypnos had become the big cheese in this time, and now he had followers too. People like Frieza who apparently liked to destroy entire cities... He was no better than the androids Jean had heard about.
"And you help the people who survived and still live here!" Jean grinned as he repeated that bit of information Daikon had told him earlier. Then he leaned in closer and began to speak in a whisper. "But hey... doesn't that make you a threat to this guy and his 'goons'?"

Daikon laughed at the boys comment. He wished he could say he was a threat. No if anything, Daikon was only an annoyance at his current level. He still had to work hard to make a major difference in this world. At least for now he could make a minor difference within this ruined city.
He looked down at the ground and kicked a rock around. "Well, with me trying to restore the city, yes. As for me being a challenge to them, then that would be a no. I need to get stronger before I take them on and I plan on fighting for Earth's freedom. How do you plan on contributing? I assume that's why your here in this city?"

"You're wrong."
A certain voice came soon enough as the two were just talking to themselves, allowing himself to burst in like that and blow up his disguise although it wouldn't be such a good idea. He might pay for that quite a lot.
"Frieza isn't the type of guy to just work for someone like that. He must be having a different motive, I'm sure of it. And it can't be that he has any interest in this planet as of now, it's too far away from Freezor."
The light voice noted, revealing the identity to whom it belonged. With a large turban over his head and local clothing to cover his body, this guy looked like the ordinary lizard-human that lives on this planet.
Only he was orange-black for some reason. A special type?

When it came to Daikon's final question, the younger saiyan pondered how he would answer it. It was true, his father had come here to help... and Jean wanted to help as well, although he wasn't sure how much he would be able to aid these people.
He had just opened his mouth to speak when another voice chimed in and he snapped his own mouth shut to listen. The boy's eyes shifted, spotting the new person out of the corner of his eyes. He didn't see anything out of the ordinary really, and assumed it was just another survivor who had taken refuge in the ruins. "Then why is Frieza still here? ...He must just like hurting people," he frowned.

Daikon turned his head as a strange figure came upon them. It was interesting has this guy knew the traits of their enemy. This made Daikon think deeply that this person could be the enemy, seeing that they could send out spies to hunt out and kill possible threats. The thoughts made him tense up to the stranger and not want to fully trust him.
Jean had brought up an question that could be very plausible. Though they could be like the aliens you see in the movies that drain the planet of their resources and then leave it to die. Though, the strangers statement made him want to ask a deeper question then what Jean had. "What makes you think you know Frieza so well?"
