Was it he impossible? Gohan knitted his eyebrows: this kid sounded exactly like Bulma. Whether that was a good thing or not, Gohan honestly had no idea. Even so, Gohan was impossible for a reason. This boy was saying all these things without any concrete evidence and although the older saiyan felt bad and as much as he wanted, he couldn't believe Jean. The youngling was getting extremely frustrated, something that aided Jean in more ways than he thought. Gohan began to think logically: why would someone get so frustrated over a lie? The kid began to ramble on about his mother and Gohan, his hand still resting on his scarred cheek, looked up, away from Jean and at the sky.
Apparently Gohan's comment about Jean's father hit home. The boy explained the situation and the pieces were somehow coming together. During his (short) time at the North Pole, Gohan did feel a high power from miles away, something way higher than any of that of any of the then-present combatants. Then almost as soon as it appeared, that power level died off. It couldn't have been Yamcha's because Gohan was there when the original Z-Fighter died. If this guy came from the future to right the wrongs in this timeline, no doubt that guy had to be strong. His eyes dropped back onto the boy and crossed his arms over his chest. "Huh..." he puffed out,t his time sounding convince. "I did sense a high power level..."
Humans (besides those who have trained with Kami or his father) didn't have such high power levels though. Gohan was partially convinced however. "Your father was human." Gohan speculated. If he was the grandchild of Yamcha and Bulma then their kid should've been a full human, just like Bulla and her sibling. "How was he so strong?"

Jean breathed out a deep and long awaited sigh, this time however it was a sigh of relief. Okay, now he seemed to be getting somewhere. ”It could’ve been him... I sensed a lot of powers back then, but my dad was definitely among the highest,” he nodded, but the look on his face was serious, it wasn’t that of someone who was bragging about how powerful daddy was or anything of that nature. Instead, he was merely stating a fact that agreed with what Gohan had remarked on.
”No—“ Jean cut in almost immediately in reference to his father being a human. Then again, he also quickly began to wonder why it mattered, could humans not grow just as strong as anyone else if they put their minds to it...? Jean liked to believe so... he had to believe so. If not, then he was at a real disadvantage in life... ”Well... half human. I guess it gives you a leg up on most humans if you’re half saiyan... Yep, he was like you... Except, well, where I’m from Bulma kinda’ married Vegeta instead of this Yamcha guy I’ve been told about...”
The boy decided to get back to and to go a little further into detail about the whole powerlevel thing. Re-bringing it up because he didn't want Gohan to think they had not prepared ahead of time before coming here. "Plus we trained all the time too! Don't make that any less the case. That's why he got to be so strong."

Gohan stood there, raising his eyebrows in surprise. As soon as Gohan mentioned Trunks being human, the boy immediately responded, as if being human was a crime. Humans were strong creatures but weren't natural fighters like the saiyans, ki and fighting didn't come as easy to them. Most full humans he's met were weak, with the exception of Yamcha, Tien and Krillin. Hell, even Gohan himself was a hybrid and was relatively weak compared to the full saiyans he's met. His eyebrows began to lower with each unbelievable statement that came from Jean's mouth. Half-human? Saiyan? Gohan once again wore that stern look, his eyes knitted together tightly. "Bulma...married...that...scum...Vegeta?" he said calmly, although his tone signaled disbelief.
Then Jean began to ramble on about training and Gohan zoned out, now examining this boy. Now that he thought about it, this kid did look like a mix of his supposed grandparent's appearance. Gohan was actually started to believe the kid fully and truly wanted to go to Capsule Corporation to confirm Jean's story. However, he needed to go find his father's friends. Once again trying his strained attempt at his father's smile, something he picked up from pictures, the half-saiyan knelt down, coming eye level with Jean and placing a hand on his shoulder. "Okay, I believe you." he lied. "Now go back to Capsule Corp. and I'll be there later, alright?"
It was decided: Gohan would find Tien and then go back to Capsule Corporation to find out what this time travel thing was about. After talking to Jean, the son of Goku would stand up and backpedel, his blue aura bursting to life around him.

”You do...?” Jean was skeptical about that one. Gohan didn’t sound as if he had much faith in the story that had just been told. Yet with all those details, how could the boy have ever made it up!? Alright, well for now he would just have to trust that the older teenager trusted him...
In fact, Gohan saying in response that he believed him allowed Jean to push that little comment about Vegeta aside. But... seriously... scum?
... Anyway...
Go back to Capsule Corp? ”But, I...” That... was hardly something that Jean wanted to submit to doing at this juncture. He was certainly in no hurry go to back there. Capsule Corp held no answers for him, the rest of the world had possibilities... he had only to discover them.
Then again, the preteen had only just managed to get Gohan to start listening to him...! It could possibly be worth it, at the very least, for Jean to head back to Capsule Corporation, going back before this journey had ever had a chance to begin.
... Whatever, it would all be worth it if this would get Gohan to realize the two of them were on the same side. ”Okay, fine. But you better show!” Jean turned around on his heels, now facing the direction he had come from before this encounter had ever happened. Without further hesitation, he powered up his ki and flew off toward Capsule Corp once more.

Gohan stepped even further back as Jean took off, looking at him warily. For your sake and the world's you better be telling the truth.,, Gohan thought, his aura now consuming his form. He would indeed head to Capsule Corporation later, hopefully after finding Tien. Assuming he found the three-eyed warrior, of course. The saiyan took the skies, a streak of blue energy trailing behind him as he raced into the clouds, arms spread out to his side. "...You better hope you're right..." he said, flaring his aura and shooting off even faster to his next location: where ever Tien was.
