Vanto walked out of the lobby, flexing his left arm before looking it over. It was still sore from the match yesterday. The teen was dealing with that and a broken heart. After all, it was only yesterday that him and Bulla...broke up, for lack of better phrase. The two hadn't been together: so apparently Bulla took that with her when she started looking for others guy. "Ahh.." he sighed, rubbing the back of his head in thought, a far-off look in his eyes as he stepped up onto the stadium.
He needed to forget the blue haired genius, at least for now. Beginning to stretch, he cleared his mind, completely concentrating on the match at hand. It wasn't really helping that he was going against Frosvite, a good friend of his. Even so, no way was Vanto holding back.

As for the other contestant in this fight, he was a lot more cheerful than in the last one, precisely because he was up against someone he knew. Vanto Lux was a good friend of his, a very good friend actually that he respected as much as to decide going on the match with him, but agreeing to give up whenever the other fighter wanted to - truthfully. He happily stepped upon the ring, awaiting the announcer to start the battle. Surely, this was going to be a battle he won't forget so easily, simply because the previous one these two held was interrupted and finally they can face off and see who's stronger. He was happy to go and help his friend in any way, though this was sort of something he wanted for himself. Selfish, but everybody experiences such moments. Even the purest of people.
"Hehe! Finally up against each other, huh? Well, don't hold back, alright?" Frosvite noticed Vanto didn't approach the ring in his best mood, but still decided to show how excited he was. You could easily imagine the Changeling in a background filled with sparkles and shine. His smile was just like last time they met, as friendly as possible but the orange lizardman already marked himself in the crowd's eyes as a killer with that flashy attack he used in his previous match. Perhaps this one would be smoother and could even cheer the human up in a way.

The crowd was roaring, and he was smiling as always when it came to standing in the middle of the world tournament ring. "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! our next and second match-up in the semi-finals of the twenty-fourth tenkaichi budokai world tournament is about to begin! first we have the returning emo child with the duck/rooster hair cut, vanto lux!"
pausing he let the crowd cheer and boo for the veteran male fighter. "and our second contestant, we have the guy with no sense of fashion, frosvite!" grinning ear to ear he half clapped a bit before slipping his note card back into his suit's pants pocket, making his leave from the ring and taking his position behind the announcer's table, lifting a small hammer he'd smack it into the ring side bell. "BEGIN!" [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Vanto cracked his knuckles and took a deep breath. His eyes flashed with determination, thoughts of the outcome of this match swimming through his head. Somehow, despite being excited, the same solemn look was on his face. His eyes were full of life but at the same time, Vanto looked near-depressed. It was so strange. Sliding into his same southpaw stance, the teen began to bounce in place. "Yeah, I guess this is a rematch, Frosty." Vanto said, that last name coming out of no where. Well, at least the changeling had a new nickname.
Seeing as he didn't want it go like the last time, Vanto stayed put. If this battle was going to start, the changeling would have to attack first.

As soon as the bell rang, Frosvite began to think through his strategies and openings. He would most likely want to rely on a counterstrike, preferring to go on defensive rather than offensive on the start of the battle for his own safety. If he's not going on offense, he has the time to dodge an opponent's strike and plenty to analyze their strengths just like he had done with Vanto in their previous, short-lived match. He already began browsing through whatever starting strategies he might have, knowing the same trick probably won't work twice on the human. The odd thing was, his friend never really made a move.
Something else disturbed the orange lizardman about the match, and that was the expression his dear human showed in the start of the battle, along with the tone of speech. Something was wrong, something that could have ruined this battle and as a good friend, it was Frosvite's job to make sure Vanto's mind is not distracted by other means during their fight. He would be too vulnerable in case something really is wrong. Quickly enough after waiting a couple of seconds - assuring no starting move is made from the opposite side, the Changeling fired off a Death Beam straight at his enemy's chest.

The bell rang and Vanto fortified his stance, the muscles in his legs and arms tensing up as his legs spread apart more. His opponent raised his hand, a purple light coming to be at the tip of his index finger. More confused than anything, Vanto simply prepared to dodge and that he did. An extremely fast pencil thin beam of purple energy shot toward him and the teen shot to the side, diving and rolling across the title. As he rolled, Vanto pressed his hands against the titles to vault himself back onto his feet and made a mad dash for Frosvite.
Mid-run, he jumped up only a couple inches off the ground and took flight, his white aura flaring around him. Hopefully before the changeling could charge another one of those moves and once he was within range, Vanto's foot would shoot out, aiming to slam his shin into Frostvite's side. If this would connect, Vanto would push off his friend's body, into a spin and lay down another kick to his face.

As expected, the Death Beam had been avoided by the opposing human which successfully managed to throw himself out of the way, return to his feet and immediately charge towards the source of the attack. Frosvite expected his good friend to give him a good match, but while the idea came to his mind he didn't suspect the human has improved that much since their little unfinished spare back at Mt. Paozu, where the latter's power surpassed the Changeling's. Of course, that is past, at the moment the orange lizardman himself packed quite the punch, more than he did back then and thus should give Vanto more than just a warm-up.
Since he had no reason to be afraid of fighting someone he trusts so much in the rules of the tournament, Frosvite did not flinch at the sight of the human in the air coming in on him for a kick. The assault was aimed at the Changeling's side, but all the while the raven-haired boy made his approach was more time the other fighter could use for quick analysis, only determining how should he go against this attack. A shin aimed at the side was not something most fighters would resort to which made it quite the interesting move, but nothing Frosvite couldn't handle. Upon the upcoming leg, the Changeling made a quick move backwards, jumping back before the leg managed to make contact. On his way still airborne, the orange lizardman fired yet another Death Beam, this time from a much closer range and while still dodging - boosting his speed in air and ensuring more chances for a direct hit.

That attack was a fail. Vanto wanted to punch himself for making such a stupid mistake. Frosvite was still faster than him, despite the human's intense gravity training. No matter how light he felt or how much he planned, the changeling seemed to be nineteen steps ahead at him; either literally or mentally. His eyes widened as Frosvite took the same pose, raising his arm to charge another one of those purple beams. Vanto immediately started to panic and completely forgot that he was airborne: the teen could've shot upward to dodge if he was really thinking. The death beam connected with his chest, exploding upon impact.
Vanto felt out of the air and slammed into the arena floor, rolling along the tiles and screaming in pain. Smoke was billowing off the point of impact, a hole ripped in his shirt and the skin ripped slightly and burned. "Holy crap, Frosvite!" he shouted, struggling to his feet, grasping his chest. Flesh wound, flesh wound, he thought in an attempt to motivate himself and dropped back into his stance.
"I guess you're not holding back!" he cried out, his aura forming around him as he shot forward. The teen's left hand went for his right wrist, ki forming an electric current and engulfing his entire hand. Vanto would do all this in rapid succession and quickly move toward Frosvite in an attempt to karate chop his side with the electric-charged hand.

The attack was a success. It appears that it even made a strike apparently too early, moving fast enough to catch Vanto off guard and make him drop down to the floor with the hole in his shirt and his flesh slightly burned from it. The Death Beam was obviously not full-powered, but as much as a regular Ki Blast would hurt, so does a non-charge one of those. Frosvite would know, he had a few good years of experience with those. Seeing his friend on the floor like that reminded him of the times when he was still operating for Frieza, when he was the one on the floor as a result of pain and sudden surprise - just like the human boy right now.
"Well, I did ask you not to, naturally I won't either. I'm sorry if it was too hard..." He said, honestly apologizing for the move he had just done. Perhaps using the Death Beam constantly to spare himself some time or to train his Ki wasn't the best idea against Vanto, but then again, the result of this very training was shown upon his friend's body. Yes, that definitely was not the best of choices the orange lizardman could come up with. So he thought at least, until his opponent came in on him with what appeared to be a sparking electric glow on his right hand area. A Ki-charged blow, probably going to hurt quite a bit.
In response, Frosvite jumped forward, seemingly into the zone of the attack sooner than expected, something he hasn't done too many times. Analysis of this attack was not even needed to know it is dangerous, the only problem he had with it is the range. If that thing was going to be shot, the Changeling is as good as dead. Well, until he uses his absolute one hundred percent in the fight, as of now he's only limiting himself to forty. After entering the zone of the strike, Frosvite - via two afterimages - appeared on the other edge of the ring, displaying his speed once again. He began charging his Ki, pointing at his opponent and holding his wrist with his other hand.

Vanto's arm went right through the changeling and it was safe to assume that was an afterimage. Seeing the image of his opponent out of the corner of his eyes and the human spun around, shooting a ki blast only for it to go past through the image and explode upon hitting one of outside walls. Frosvite was now at the edge of the arena and Vanto found himself landing right in front of the stairs, directly across from the changeling. Seeing his opponent take an odd stance and feeling the tense atmosphere, the human had a feeling things were about to get real.
"I guess we're doing this, huh?" the teen said though he had no idea what he was talking about. His right hand went to his left wrist again and the boy began to mold his ki. The sound of crackling and popping echoed through the arena, which was rather quiet besides the screeching sound of ki charging. Frosvite was charging a powerful attack meaning that Vanto had to do the same. The current once against surrounded his hand, his body shaking due to the sheer amount of ki he was channeling.
Electric energy arcing around him and up his arm, Vanto stood in the ready, hunched over, ki steadily building around his hand. "Whenever you're ready."

His concentration broke just as soon the thought of shooting his good friend with such an attack came in, having to start remolding his Ki in his palm (which was now, just a finger pointing at the opponent). He would never forgive himself if Vanto was really going to get that damaged, which is why a smaller, less deadly version of the attack needed to be initiated. Besides, he could always just release it when they're engaging close combat whenever the orange lizardman feels he's going too far, in a mean to end the fight of course and not just give up. His attack, Jet Shaver as he called it, was strong enough to demolish an enormous part of the ring and enough to probably destroy the seats of the crowd, luckily it was directed to the gates rather than the actual seats.
Frosvite's position was by now, at the worst. He might was unable to sense Ki like his human friend there, but the Changeling could still very well see the sparks and hear the crackles that sounded odd, like electricity yet reminding of many birds' aggressive tweet. "Ummm... Really? I said not to hold back, but are we really going with that... Now?" He became unsure of himself, not really knowing what would happen should he win this small match of Ki attacks and his friend would get into a really, really bad state. Jet Shaver managed to completely fry Gelid in the previous match, which even got out of it in the middle. What if Vanto was to take a direct hit?
In his doubt, Frosvite took his stance and jumped high to the air, preparing to shoot. When he felt his location was high enough, he let out a powerful shout as the ray was bought out. It was large enough to engulf the human fighter and a little more, but to the spectators which have seen the turbaned fighter's previous match it would be obvious this was just a weakened version of the attack.

The attack was coming. Vanto's aura thickened and the teen shot up in a streak of white light. The screeching sound of ki roaring through the air was deafening, the heat emanating off the wave hitting Vanto and scalding his shoes slightly. Damn it, he thought. Imagined if he got hit by that? Was Frosvite trying to kill him!? Deciding to make this move while Frosvite was still focusing on his technique, Vanto went straight toward, blazing through the air with his arm pulled back, electricity now enveloping his entire arm. "My turn, buddy!" Vanto shouted, a smile coming across his face. "Try this on for size!"
Once he was within range, Vanto's arm shot out like a whip, his palm open as he attempted to slap Frosvite in the chest. The teen couldn't bring himself to deal such damage to his good friend. Well, good friend as of this match. Though the two were opponents in this match, they weren't enemies. No ill will was present during this match and none should be present after it, no matter who won. If the human's hand connected with Frosvite's chest, then Vanto would curve his arm downward, attempting to send Frosvite back into the arena floor or out of the ring.
Whichever one worked.

It appears as if that wasn't sufficient the make the opposing human surrender. That is to be expected, the full power of the Jet Shaver, let alone its size could very easily destroy the entire ring and crowd seats and killing his good friend was definitely not in Frosvite's to-do list. The smaller, weaker shot still did some damage though, enough to somehow burn the raven-haired human's shoes but to no real effect as the impact from the opposing fighter soon came in quite powerfully with the alien's chest. They have both landed quite the powerful strikes by now, but it seems as Vanto's sparking electrified arm and hand would deal a lot more damage upon the Changeling's body.
Luckily upon the slam and burn over his chest, Frosvite was not tossed out of the ring and only barely managed to shoot himself back to the center of the ring by skidding upon the tiles on his chest, trying to reduce the pain from it by doing so. It still hurt very much, enough for even after sliding there a clutch and a shout followed by worming on the floor were needed. "Oww!! Nngh!..." Standing up to prevent losing by knockout, the orange lizardman held on to his burned chest while trying to endure tears to fall from his eyes.
"That really hurt, Vanto!" He said, looking to see if the human fighter was still there. Upon that impact, the turbaned warrior understood his way as of now would probably not work, at all. Either he would go all out in his forty percent state or he resorts back to running away until a good enough chance comes up.

Vanto landed on the arena, only a few feet in front of Frosvite. The part of the arena behind him was destroyed, completely ravaged by the changeling's technique. The ground under it was completely expose, smoke rising from the charred earth. That was a toned down version of the attack, Vanto assumed: Frosvite wouldn't really unleash a full force on the human, seeing as the changeling favored the black haired boy. Even if Vanto did use a full-power Fulmen Surge, the fighter didn't utilize the full potential of the attack. No way could he severely hurt his friend.
"Sorry, man." he said before bringing his hand to the hole in his shirt, pointing to the burned and ripped skin. "Doesn't feel so good, does it?" he joked, smiling once more at his friend. The fighter dropped into his stance and stood there, hoping Frosvite would know that Vanto was coming for him. After all, if he caught the lizardman off guard, that wouldn't be fair.
Charging forward, Vanto would jump toward Frosvite, his leg shooting out to his Frosvite in the arm.

Nevertheless, it was good the two fighters remained friends enough to hold back their possibly strongest attacks against each other. Sure, the world martial arts tournament basically means beating your opponent but these two going at it to the point where the other could possibly die is definitely out of question, neither would do that. Frosvite felt good knowing Vanto would not attempt to kill his good friend, but so he only convinced himself: perhaps the attack was only that strong and incomplete yet, only appearing threatening as it was then. Hopefully the human fighter has got some more in store.
The Changeling laughed a bit in response to his good friend's little joke, showing the two fighters have suffered the same pain right now - both burned on the chest. Of course, in terms of physical endurance, you couldn't declare which one had the upper hand but in the body condition it was the alien taking the lead, as the slight burn from his weakened Jet Shaver did quite the number on Vanto's feet. Stepping on them now should be quite painful, unfortunately. "Yeah... I guess you're right.
|
" He said, giggling a little. As soon as the enemy entered a stance, so did the orange lizardman, awaiting a move to approach. He would have nothing to fear right now except for getting burned like that again, watching out for that electrifying attack to come again. Vanto jumped forward with a kick, apparently, shooting out for the Changeling's arm. He was now fighting on defense, just like he wanted and had plenty of ways to counter a straight attack like that. He would first have to, though, develop a good enough strategy which is why a mere block using his forearm and firmly standing was the action pulled. He ran a few strategies in his mind, but non were initiated just yet. It was back to analyzing.
