how they evolve | |
Character Growth isn't something that is easy to attain. It can be triggered by many things, such as battle, near death experiences, training, and emotions. Gaining new Transformations, Increasing one's power level, and learning new Techniques are all a part of character growth. No matter a character's race, growth may always be attained. Power LevelsWhat are Power Levels? The use of power levels is to get an estimation of how a battle will fare between two opponents of known power levels. In general, if one has a higher power level than one's opponent, then he/she has an advantage against the one with a weaker power level. However, on this site, it is merely a guideline, as techniques and strategy come in to play as well. How do I increase my Power Level? Coming Soon How do I gain new Transformations? Some races have the ability to gain new transformations as illustrated in the Races Board. New Transformations are generally earned in arc and plot threads, though in some rare cases they may be earned outside of those. In any case, a majority of them will only be earned in great times of need and when the specific conditions for acquiring that transformation are met. Learning New TechniquesRace Techniques and Signature Techniques can be learned through training. More information on training can be found below. [/div]

ultimate techniques | |
Signature moves are different from Race Techniques in that they are much more rare and often require much more training. However, often Signature moves are much more powerful as well. They are often finishing techniques. At maximum, you can only learn 6 signature moves. If you wish to learn more, you must replace one of your other signature moves. If you want to learn it over again, it will require training. Types of Signature MovesSchool Taught Signature MovesThe first way to gain new signature moves is through joining a school. You can only join one school, and once you make your decision, it is permanent. You can disassociate yourself from the school after you have learned your techniques if you so desire, but you still cannot join another school after doing so.
Once you have joined a school, you can begin learning their techniques free of charge, and you can learn as many of them as you want through training. Self-created Signature MovesYou may also create your own techniques for the cost of 650 zenie a move. However, you must first register your move in the Signature Ability Registration board. Staff may be very strict on the moves that are accepted, but attempt to be reasonable as well. After your move is accepted, you still must train for it. Peer Taught Signature MovesThe final way to learn a new Signature move is by training with other members on the site. Unfortunately, they cannot teach the signature moves of the their schools nor other canon techniques (even if they are a canon character). They may only teach the Signature moves which they created themselves. This means, for example, that Vegeta could not teach anyone his Galick Gun. Even though it is unique to him, it is a canon technique and thus may not be taught on this site.
Some exceptions may be made, but it requires the approval of an administrator. [/div]

power of effort | |
So now you know what moves you want? Well, now you just need to train for them. Training is done IC. Why do we do training IC instead of just letting you pay for your new technique? Well, the reason is because we like to see training as character enrichment as well. Through your rp, we want to see your character actually grow, change and evolve. How to TrainSignature MovesTo train for a signature technique, you will open a thread called "CHARACTER NAME - Training "[SIG MOVE NAME]"" (Example: Frosvite - Training [Kamehameha]) where in solo or partnered roleplay, you will demonstrate your character coming up with the move and practicing for the usage of it. - If rping alone, you may do one large post (at least 15 paragraphs) or you can do 10 posts (at least 3 paragraphs each). Of course, these are only minimums. We welcome you to do more.
- If you are training with a partner [2 other people at maximum], you each must do a minimum of 7 posts (3 paragraphs each). The partner can either be someone who is teaching you the technique, or you may be working together to learn the technique.
Rating: Your thread will receive a rating by the battle mod who grades it. It will be on a scale of 0 to 5:
- 0 stars; Your training thread did not meet the requirements for training. You did not learn the technique. +0 PL
- 1 star; You barely met the requirement, but did so enough to learn your technique. +0 PL
- 2 stars; You could have shown a bit more effort in your training. It didn't make much sense, was pretty boring to read, didn't show much character growth, or showed an unrealistic amount character growth. +50PL
- 3 stars; Your training was satisfactory. It was somewhat realistic, and you put effort into your training and weren't just trying to rush through it. Good job. +150 PL
- 4 stars; Spectacular! Your thread was entertaining, realistic, and a paragon of perfection. You obviously put a lot of time and thought into your training. You used excellent grammar, had decent post sizes, and went way above and beyond what was expected of you. +350 PL
- 5 stars; Your posts were the perfect, entertaining, and interesting. In addition, your posts were pretty (posting template, blockquotes, justification) and every single post made perfect sense and was easy to follow. (+650 PL)
