OOC; I decided that this should be set in a time where Gohan's just a little sprout. XP And I left the ending open for you, so yes! :3 Hope you like?
The fresh-faced wife seemed to have prided herself very much, for she gave her abundant-with-food table another look of admiration, eyes sparkling with a sort of romantic air in them. "You've really outdone yourself this time, Chi-Chi," she remarked to herself rather haughtily, twirling the pan skillfully by its handle, nimble fingers working at the motion like spindly pale spiders.
Swift, she yanked off her apron and rushed up to her bedroom to take in her overall her appearance. She fussed with her bangs before pausing in her step to observe the creases of her traditional apparel. Chi-Chi believed she looked a little on the bulky side, but knew that her husband would not have noticed the flaw nor would he have cared to. He was adorably strange that way, she had to admit that, even to herself.
"My Gohan is just so cute," she sighed, having slithered out of her room to explore the tight hall, to where she was greeted by an extensive family album created by the raven-haired wonder herself. She wondered how her child would turn out in a few years -- would he be an intellectual scholar, a scientist, a lawyer? Yes! All of the above, please and thank you!
"Of course," she said proudly, smirking slightly. Her smooth demeanor escaped her as she looked at the hour. The mother of one zipped through the house, leaving behind a trail of smoke behind her, looking crazed. Did she miss anything? No, she had all of Goku's favorites on the table. Did she forget the utensils needed? Of course not! Was she ready? Oh, no --
"Of all the things to forget! Flowers?!" She screamed, about to run out of the house to get some when she bumped into something solid and bulky.

"Oh!"
Chi-Chi bumped into a shirtless Goku, fresh out of a hot shower and covered only by a towel wrapped tightly about his waist. Times had been peaceful over the last few years, but he wasn't the kind of guy who only trained when there was a threat to overcome. No, training was as much of a hobby for him as it was a self-assumed obligation, and he'd been out of the house for a good few hours honing his skills and working to up his strength and speed. If he had it his way, he would just get home and crash right after a good session, but his doting wife had made it clear that she could hardly bare the stench of him after he'd been going at it so hard. He actually thought that was kind of funny, but he'd agreed to clean up for her sake.
At least she'd promised him a nice dinner for his troubles this time, and he was grateful for that promise; he was so hungry now and so tired from training that he could hardly stand. So weak was he that he actually stumbled backward a bit when Chi-Chi ran into him, but fortunately for the both of them, he was able to regain his footing. "Is something wrong?" He asked, casting a look of mock concern upon the mother of his child. He'd learned by now that she was almost always running about for some reason or another, but that didn't stop him from poking a little fun at her for her behavior.
He didn't give her his attention for long before he was distracted by an enthralling aroma from their kitchen. He gently brushed past her, closing his eyes and smiling as he took in the scent. "Wow, Chi-Chi! Everything smells amazing!" He opened his eyes, and his smile grew even wider. "And it looks even better! Can we eat now?" He turned around eagerly as he voiced his inquiry, seeming to forget that he hadn't even gotten dressed yet. When it came to food, Goku had a one-track mind.

Goku was not quite as naïve as most people assumed. Sure, there were tidbits here and there he just had to learn, like why a fellow like him couldn't eat at the dinner table with a scant towel on for poor covering.
The stern wife felt a slight blush creep onto her face as she tried, unsuccessfully, to evade the school-girlish thoughts that passed through that silly little mind of hers. But how could she not consider them? Time was thinning, and she was on the floor, looking a bit messy.
No one could blame her, right? She felt like she had just collided with a freaking wall! Apparently, this dinner wasn't starting out so well for the former fighter. She rivaling even Master Roshi in this sort of nonsense. With a fussy flip of her dark hair, the indignant spouse rose onto her dainty feet and crossed her arms rather irritably; her good-natured husband was already poking fun at her on her night!
"I don't know, Goku. What do you think?" uttered the infamous time bomb with a temper. He passed her, used to her random mood swings. When she was pregnant, she was actually crazier than she was now. She even at some point threw a kitchen knife in his direction and pierced the wall he was leaning upon that day, having missed him by only by a few blessed inches. The woman was quite in fact tame for the moment.
A strange kind of glint in her eye played a part in this, the edge of her fine lips dressed with a meager smirk. She picked up her white, flimsy apron just as he neared the food, then rolled it up quickly before directing it at his buttocks with a shameless slap of the clothe.
The playful thing tossed it to the side, looking innocent. "Not until you put some clothes on," she added testily, tone higher than usual. "Don't make me wait or I'll eat everything."

"What? You're kidding."
He put a very nervous smile on his face at that point, sure that she was kidding, but knowing full well that the daughter of the Ox King could follow through on her threat if the mood struck her. He certainly hadn't abandoned his training just to come home and go hungry, so he chose not to tempt fate, rushing out of the dining room as Chi-Chi had demanded. "Don't start without me!" he called from the room they shared, and he moved with great speed to the closet. Most of the outfits within belonged to Chi-Chi, who had a much more expansive wardrobe than her husband. In the mix, however, were the few outfits he had that weren't made for training and/or combat.
One of them was a semi-formal ensemble consisting of a pair of gray slacks and a long-sleeved white shirt. Moving quickly, but carefully, he shed his towel and put those clothes on, taking a moment to examine himself in the mirror to make sure that he looked presentable. Though he could really only guess at what exactly was "presentable," he decided to take his chances with this outfit that Chi-Chi had put together for him some time ago and left their room.
"Okay, can we eat now?" He put on his best puppy-dog eyes and the most innocent smile he could muster as he asked that question, hoping against hope that his wife would be satisfied so that they could begin the meal before his stomach gave out.

"Watch me," she taunted, grabbing a little red ball of tomato for him to see. As he dashed away for a quick change, she dropped the diminutive fruit back on her plate. Of course she wasn't going to initiate such a feast without him.
Waiting for her husband, she toyed delicately with her salad in wonder. The last few seconds of his running caused her raven hair to dance lazily. "Could you run any faster? I'm not getting any younger, Goku!" she pushed the poor savior of the world, knowing well she wouldn't have lasted a second by herself, eating every little thing she had prepared for the night. Ninety percent of the food provided was meant for the frantic saiyan, no thanks to his tremendous, infamous appetite. One should see the grocery bill she had to pay every now and then.
He was awfully quick to arrive, which pleased her. His more than moody wife rose from where she sat, walked over to him, then playfully punched his cheek. "Is food all you ever think about? I give you a pass for that," she complimented the hungry bulk of muscle. That was her odd way of saying that he was allowed to gobble up the table.
"Now, sit down before I change my mind," she ordered, going back to where she had been previous to this. Chi-chi sat, excited as to what he would think. Yes, he didn't have a distaste for any of her cooking, she believed, but this was a romantic dinner. One he wasn't quite aware of it being -- romantic.
"So," she began awkwardly, "how was your . . . training?" the last word left her lips in a state of monotony.

"All right!" Goku exclaimed, eagerly taking his seat at the table and loading up the plate set for him with a variety of the different foods his doting wife had provided. This marriage thing was really working out well. He still couldn't say he fully understood the significance of it all, but Chi-Chi seemed to have been happy to go through the "wedding." For his part, he thought it all too great to have someone to make him delicious meals all the time. And, though he failed to articulate the sentiment, he really did have a deep admiration for the mother of his child.
It was the part of him that recognized this strange thing called love that stopped him from immediately beginning to stuff his face as her question reached him (though the desire was apparent; his hand had lifted a savory piece of meet halfway to his mouth before coming to a sudden halt). "Oh, it was great," he replied, speaking somewhat more calmly than before. "I really worked up a sweat. I think I'm pushing myself farther than I've ever gone before." Given the lengths he'd gone to to increase his strength in the past, that was really saying something, especially considering that few would think one could go much farther after receiving special training from a veritable deity.
Tapping into a bit of knowledge imparted to him by his more world-wise friends Krillin and Yamcha, Goku restrained himself from beginning the meal to speak sincerely. "It all really does look great," he said, speaking of the entire setup Chi-Chi had prepared to "set the mood," as it were. "Thank you." He paused for a few seconds to offer a sweet smile--Yamcha said she would like that--then let himself go, stuffing the food in his hand into his mouth before quickly moving on to devour a great deal more. His stomach rumbled with equal parts delight and anticipation as the sweet, sour, and salty tastes danced over his tongue.
