The Forerunners are an ancient race, their origin being toward the very center of the universe. That being said, they are one of the oldest surviving races currently known. Despite being from the other end of the universe, Forerunners tend to take the likeness of humans, possibly being closely related as far as race is concerned. Most Forerunners tend to have fair skin, light colored hair and sometimes even pointy ears. However, only those purest in blood usually hold that last trait. In addition to that, those who hold the status of nobility are usually marked somewhere upon their body with their family crest in the form of a tattoo or burned into their skin at a young age.
Unlike their human counterparts, Forerunners have a more spiritual side to them and are capable of having extrasensory abilities similar to that of Namekians and are able to draw strength from nature itself. For one, Forerunners are capable of sharing thoughts, feelings and emotions with others. This gives them an unrivaled ability to communicate with others and better understand individuals. It is through this that they were able to overcome many feats during their hayday. The Forerunners were first a barbaric race who only waged war and conquered others. But over time, they became a peaceful race, who ascended to technological greatness that spanned incomprehensible distances.
However, their star was dying, as was their homeworld of Gahnir 2. They sought to prolong its longevity by creating a giant sphere around their solar system capable of harnessing every last bit of their energy. Soon enough, the star parished along with all those who clung to their home. Those who remained were scattered about the universe, remnants of an ancient, powerful race.
Techniques
- Flight: The ability to fly with the use of Ki
- Ki Blast: The most basic form of energy wave. It is similar to Kamehameha but lacks the raw power of a signature blast.
- Invigorate: The ability to draw energy from nature and then use that energy to revitalize one's own energy. Though it requires concentration to perform.
- Spirit Barrier: The ability to create barriers by simply focusing ones ki. Though the strength is dependant on the user's willpower and ability to draw energy from nature.
- Spirit Blast: Similar to the spirit bomb, the spirit blast gathers enervy from other living things on a much smaller scale to be fired in a single blast.
- Forerunner Telepathy: This ability allows the user to converse with others directly through a mental connection. It even allows the user to share their own thoughts, experiences, memories, feelings and emotions with those involved in the connection.
- Telekinesis: This ability allows the user to move objects with his/her mind. The Forerunners' ability to use telekinesis is usually higher than other individuals, allowing them to move extremely heavy objects.
- Detection: The ability to detect power levels. However, being that Forerunners are so in tune with nature, it makes it easier for them to pin point individuals with rather high power levels even if they are trying to mask themselves.
- Manifestation: This ability allows the user to alter their appearance to that of a wolf. In other words, transformation. However, this can only be used to transform into a wolf. Being as animals are more connected to nature, it is only normal that those using this ability have increased spiritual abilities.
- Super Hearing: A superior sense of hearing allows the user of this ability to sense an opponent's location by sound.
Transformations
Ookami: An Ookami is a wolf-like creature that all Forerunners are capable of transforming into. This transformation grants Forerunners extreme size, incredible strength, as well as an overall power increase. The size of this transformation varies, with older Forerunners being comparatively larger than younger ones. As for the color of the fur for this transformation varies between each individual, though the purity of one's blood does have something to do with it. The lighter the fur color, the more pure blood the Forerunner. In other words, a status symbol.
In order to transform into Ookami, one must have accumulated enough natural energy over time. Or in simpler terms, it requires the Forerunner to be quite in tune with their more spiritual powers.Power Increase: 10x
Ascended Forerunner: To Ascend to the next level is a great feat that few have accomplished over the entire existence of the Forerunners. It allows them to harness vast amounts of natural energy into a single, compact transformation. This transformation grants its user a high amount of energy, unparalleled to the vast majority of the Forerunners. In order to reach this level of power, a Forerunner must be completely in tune with the universe around them and have a clear mind, a clear heart and resolute in their actions. It is then they may obtain this great power. They will appear as half-wolf, half-man being, capable of performing impossible feats.Power Increase: 35x
Transcendent: In times of great need comes great power. Those who transcend further than the previous level will find themselves here, as one of the rare and powerful ancients. No matter what the purity of the Forerunner, their hair will flow down past the shoulders and turn silver like moonlight. Capable of manipulating natural energy on a grand scale, a Transcendent can partially transform whichever of their body parts into that a wolf.Power Increase: 50x
