Last time on Dragonball T! The brothers had been travelling towards Sax's home from beyond the forestry and plains of earth for a long time before they stumbled across the ruins of East City, without much direction in their path and broken feelings leaving little communication left much to the imagination in their travel. Before the ruins and the construction of their home there was another story, simple in nature and particularly confusing to a native of Namek: The many lifestyles of humans. Sax is left to question many things upon earth, where as the now veteran of this land, Snare is more than accustom to the humans strange traditions. [Filler] _________________________ 'Before you say it...' Sax gave the desolate area a second scan before looking back to Snare with a cautioning glare. 'I'm not lost.' Maybe he was lost, this stupid planet was all the same! Nothing but trees and grassland, Namek was so easy to track directions upon, destinations miles apart known rather than left to retracing steps in a maze of different shades of green. He wasn't going to admit defeat however, the whole concept of him finding Snare was something quite lucky in the first place, he wasn't going to mess up the first few moments with the guy by giving him ammo. The only thing that could be seen on the relatively gloomy day was the light fog of rainfall which coated the hillsides. One place did seem to catch Snare's eye though, a town? A village even by the looks of its size, and so far away from the major city's too. 'Know anything about that place?' Sax tried to focus on it through the impaired area, he was certain he saw blaring lights, but since when did lights move? 'May as well look around there.. Saves trudging in this..' He looked down to his shoes, the noise that came from him lifting them was enough to call it quits on the adventure trek. He stumbled down the natural landscape, trying to ignore the fact that the path was so close to the forestry, the horrible feeling of someone seeing them if they did so much as place a toe in the open. The little village was started to look a little more visible now, the houses were bunched and small, having a typical main road which went right through the town and out the other end. Small signs lit up the area and steered it away from a completely depressing atmosphere, as locals skittered back and forth between the thin streets. 'Earth accommodations and towns are strange..' And he said that with utmost honesty, and he'd been to many different planets since he left from Namek. He hated to say it but, he couldn't tell one place from the other, left him slightly uneasy as small shouts and screams could be heard from inside the towns limits. 'We could just pass through, make use of the buildings to block the rain.' He adjusted the remains of his make-shift facial cover as he motioned towards the city. 'You know Earth right? Should we go in?'

"Before you say it... I'm not lost."
"'Course not, and I'm a wizard." Snare mumbled under his breath, rolling his eyes as he entertained his vision with the scene of greenery. Sarcasm was something he picked up quickly after being so nicely transported to this depressing planet. It was used often, and it had just the right amount of attitude and dickery and the perfect blend to suit his needs almost right off the bat. He let out an impatient sigh, but really only did it to see if it would piss Saxophone off. Apparently the older namekian had a hatred towards the rain, or at the very least a disdain. One that seemed to make him short and made Snare laugh, inwardly of course. He wouldn't want his immaturity to be so clearly seen after all. The younger namekian enjoyed rain, despite how strange it would seem. To him the rain was a relaxing blanket, one that actually seemed to brighten his mood and calm him. Hence why he wasn't still angrily raging at Saxophone for the past; he was too busy being in some silly euphoria to really care. Snare barely paid attention to the older's question and thus only offered a slight shake of his head; he was far too busy staring up at the dark sky as the rain trickled down his apple green face.
He continued this ignorance as Sax ranted about this and that, saying crap that really didn't need to be said; like no shit the ground would get soggy when it was raining. Common knowledge, or at least he assumed as much. Finally something Sax said grabbed his attention, causing him to stop looking at the sky and look ahead. Before him was a town of sorts, nothing too fancy or even big; probably was what Sax was referring to before hand. He stood a little straighter at the next comment. 'Course he knew earth! He had been on the little hell hole for what seemed like forever now, there was nothing he hadn't seen. "Think of me as the tour guide." He responded with a grin, raindrops falling onto his sharp teeth. With that said, he set forth, walking a little strangely due to the wetness of his pants, but determined none-the-less.
Snare led his companion forth, sloshing through the ground as it took a rather deep inward curve. The spotted namekian swore slightly as he looked down to his shoes; now soaked and nearly filled. He grumbled a bit, as much as he loved the rain he did not enjoy the puddles that accompanied it. "They 'ought to have a hotel or bar of sorts. And if we can't get a room or something there, town people are generally much more open to the idea of letting a stranger stay with 'em. I remember some old lady let me crash at her place after a mishap training; lost both of my arms. Makes this," he waved his stumpy left shoulder around, "seem like a fuckin' blessin'." They entered the beginnings of the town then, and Snare scanned around with his black eyes. He completely ignored the people scurrying to and fro from the weather, and ignored the points coming from two story homes. "Ahah!" He exclaimed with a triumphant grin. "There she is; a bar. We'll be able to hold up there until the rain stops or until you realize that the rain won't hurt 'ya." He gestured for Saxophone to take the lead with his right arm, "Ladies first." It didn't even occur how humanized his speech had become, or that Sax may question why he was giving 'genders' to buildings, or even get the insult. Oh well, Snare was alright with being ignorant.

A wash of both confidence and worry came over him as Snare responded to his list of complaints, Snare appointing himself to guide him through this mysterious place. He had seen towns before in the small time he had been here, but he had more often than not just covered himself up and power walked through it considering the stories he heard about namekian's amongst the locals. It wasn't so much the rain he was worried about, more what he couldn't see in it. For a race who could live off water alone he felt like a plant being watered, revitalised even, but the idea that their vision was impaired and his race on this planet was frowned upon... Well it wasn't exactly in the safest interests to go lingering around without any known clue of how to get back, things would be more memorable in clearer weathers. They slowly walked into the town, Sax for once in the journey being behind Snare as he took leadership over the confused former mentor, Sax simply proceeded to eyeball everything that looked out of place to him, which was pretty much everything.
'Are you going to get into a habit of losing limbs? Next you are going to be losing an antenna or something..' He mumbled in response to Snares explanation of the town, expressing his lack of limb once more afterwards. Snare tried to simplify as much as possible, the majority of buildings were where they lived, and the rest was for.. For.. What are they for? what more would they need other than a food house? 'A bar..' Sax ignored the first logical thing that came to mind from the word, giving Snare an angry and confused look, no doubt his strange branding of gender was some sort of insult. 'What can I get 'ya?' It wasn't a few second he was inside and someone was asking him something. 'A.. Uhm..' He pondered over the suprise request. He looked around the room as the people seemed to look back to him then go about their business, whatever it was they were doing in the first place.
'Oi! You deaf Greenie?' This tendency to call people by their appearance in an insulting manner must be a human thing. He turned his head with a raised brow to show his attention. 'What'll it be?' He paused for a moment, Snare said they could get a bed here... So he should just. 'A bed?' The woman seemed to extend her hand, motioning to bring it as Sax just stood stunned. 'Fifty.. Each.' She tilted her head to see Snare enter behind him, Sax did the same with a shrug as he gestured to the woman.

Snare ignored Sax's comment on losing limbs and antennae; mainly because it seemed so commonplace to him, and the latter seemed impossible. But he would be damned if he said that aloud and jinxed himself. With a simple huff, Snare followed behind the older man, keeping his eyes trained on the bar all while ignoring the little humans and their pointed fingers. One of the first things he learned about humans was their inherent need to be completely disrespectful, the second was how they pointed constantly, and the third was that they were less inclined to serve you anything if you bit off one of their fingers. It wasn't too long after his little musings that they entered the bar. The room was rather small, covered by basic tatami mats and two low set tables; one was being huddled by a trio of humans. There was also a set of stairs in on of the corners, and a basic bar; all set with a modest lighting. He didn't get to observe any longer for his attention was quickly grabbed by the barkeeper.
"What can I get 'ya?"
Snare chuckled lightly at Sax's complete silence as he walked up to his companion. His face only made him chuckle again; he hadn't seen Sax so confused before. Deciding to be a complete ass about it, he let the older namekian struggle and silence to engulf the group. Finally he relented, smirking knowingly at Sax. "You'll have to forgive my friend," he began, not even bothering to remove his condescending stare from Sax's face. "He was dropped on his head a bit too many times as a kid." That got a weak chuckle from the barkeep and a soft smile from the lady. "She wants Zenni; it's a means of trading with people here." As if to further emphasize this, Snare reached into his pocket and pulled out a wallet like thing. He passed the signed notes over to the woman, and she gave a bigger smile before going around the bar and producing a set of keys.
"Your room is the first on the left up those stairs," her voice was soft yet weary, while her hand boldly pointed to the stairs.
"Ya, thanks ma'am." He grabbed the keys and pocketed them, deciding to be the more dominant in this interaction. Especially considering he had much more knowledge than Sax in this situation. With a playful grin, he leaned onto the bar, tapping it to catch the man's attention. He stood rapt, ready to listen to an order. "Two cups of sake." The namekian said authoritatively, watching as the man set to work. That was another thing that he had picked up on earth; alcohol. He was surprised to first learn that the thing didn't kill him when he drank it, even more surprised at the playful buzz it would always bring. Within seconds the barkeeper set two cups of sake on the bar, allowing Snare to snatch the first one and quickly down it. The liquid was fast and it burnt, hell it was supposed to be drunk slowly but alas. He looked to Sax, motioning to the bowl shaped cup. "Go on, drink it. Won't kill 'ya, I promise." He offered a friendly smile, but couldn't hide the devious intent in his eyes. He looked back to the barkeeper. "Keep 'em comin', I'll pay the tab after."

He expected Snare to capitalise on a situation where Sax was actually dumbfounded, and so had prepared himself for the amazing one liner. To be honest he was more interested in what he had to say next, unlike his old student he was actually inclined to listen when people were telling him important information. He eye balled the container of sorts which Sax removed from his clothing, so it was simply some sort of satchel they required? No... Snare opened it to reveal slim pieces of green coloured material, riddled with marking ans designs. Surely this isn't what they wanted, what kind of value would that have in any bartering situation. Much to Sac's suprise the woman took it with a smile, and handed them a key to their room, Sax watched the key disappear inside his brothers pocket, still hardly convinced that the woman took something to simply in exchange for something such as a room to sleep in. He tried not to linger on it, after all the last thing he wanted was more reasons for Snare to dig into him about this, that and the other.
'Sake..' He was starting to get into the habit of wording what he had never heard of before, another two containers being placed onto the desk as they were filled with liquid, Snare had thought in advance in regards to their requirements? Maybe it was just of good tiding, the woman didn't ask for anything afterwards like she did with him... Or maybe he didn't approach the situation correctly. He watched his brother down the drink like they would any other on their planet, if it isn't going over them it's going in them and its done in haste, not like namekian water is anything to behold. He would have just leapt for the drink and downed it himself had Snare not put him on edge. 'The last time you promised me something we had to fend for our lives.' He said in annoyance as he clasped the cup, looking to the woman as he was being eye balled. '... Thank you.' He took the drink, consuming it quickly in mimicry only to feel a sudden sting run through his whole body. 'Uuugh..' his subtle shiver was concealed by training, and hiding pain was easier than hiding this. The drink actually had some, taste to it though... It was nice. 'Then I'll have another.' Sax thought them to be free after all.
He took another from the desk as he turned to examine the room, basic and typical human nature left the area well-lit and massed seating along with ways to heat themselves, though a group in the corner seemed to bask in a much lower toned glow, did they prefer the darkness? He downed his next drink and motioned for another, gesturing to the group in the corner with a shrug so as to not raise attention to themselves.

"The last time you promised me something we had to fend for our lives."
Snare wanted to yell a disagreement, but to be honest that was true almost all the times. The younger of the duo would always find something he thought was cool, hindsight taught him otherwise, and dragged Sax along; promising adventure and fun. Most of the occasions as kids ended up with trying to not drown, trying to not get eaten, and trying to not get caught stealing. As adolescents, well, it was pretty much the same thing, except they had a better chance of surviving when they got busted; it would have been if had they not always been caught. Snare's fault ninety percent of the time, despite how his mind wanted to ignore that little bit. He watched with mild curiosity as Sax downed his first drink, definitely following by example. He let out some strange noise, and Snare let out a hearty laugh. As if kami himself wanted to continue this, Sax reached for another.
Snare watched with hidden laughter as the older of the two began to down drink after drink, probably thinking himself invincible. He would soon learn the err of his ways, as sake was something that was rather sneaky; it had the affects water would, and then ten minutes later one would suddenly start slurring and stumbling. This would hold especially true for Sax, who was drinking the shit back like water. The spotted one could have easily opened his maw, said something like 'slow down' or even explain what the alcohol did to ones system, but being a bystander was so much more fun in his mind. Grinning, Snare brought his second cup to his mouth, slowly sipping it this time so he wouldn't be hit by bricks. The burn was pleasant as always, relaxing him despite the slight pain. It would all be worthwhile once he got that nice little buzz going on; the one that made his head swim pleasantly.
Through the silence Snare noticed Sax's attention on the group of humans, who seemed to be too preoccupied with something to even point and stare. He tilted his head slightly, trying to get a better view, and then he saw the cards. If his life we a cartoon, money symbols would easily replace his eyes. Those guys were gambling, something Snare kicked complete ass at. His bluffs were ridiculously successful. "They are play a card game... though you probably don't know what card games are. Basically they are a bunch of pieces of paper with symbols and number on them. People bet against each other in that kinda shit. But I'm probably not doing a good enough explanation for you." He turned around quickly, tapping the bar again to grab the man's attention; really, he already had his attention but just wanted to make the noise. "You gotta deck of cards?" He asked lightly. As luck would have it, the bartender brought one out and passed it to him without a word. Snare proceeded to shove it into Sax's hands. "In the box there should be a card that somewhat explains it all, read it. If you got any questions ask, 'cause after that we are getting our asses over there and winning some zenni." Snare said confidently, sipping his cup once more. Apparently he could be patient.

'A guessing game mixed with a consequence for loss.' Sax calculated the line to make the general jist of it sound understandable. He tried to relate to the idea with a game he had played in his own lifetime, sadly all that could come to mind was his Sensei's training, nothing said fun like avoiding the swinging spiked wooden pillars. 'I don't think I can relate to such a game..' He decided the effort was futile, looking to Snare for more answers as a deck of cards was placed in his hands, or apparently that's what they were. He looked at the case, wiggling his sharp nails against the case looking for an opening, a clump of white falling out the bottom as Sax barely saved it as it split up and fell to the ground. It seemed they were much like the zenni, covered in designs and almost pointless in regards to value. He rummaged for the piece of paper Snare had suggested, unfolding it to find a detailed list of the games process and collections required. 'So if I get this, I win.. But if they..' He proceeded to mumble to himself as his finger ran over the tables contents. 'This seems to make some sense after all.' Sax said with a hint of compliment as he reversed his actions, placing the box on the table and finishing his third cup of this sake.
'Win Zenni? So this is an item worth collecting also?' He rubbed his hand over his head, was it bad that it was tangling itself up over something as apparently simple as this? Snare seemed to be almost overjoyed by the idea of winning this item, almost as much as he was laughing at him for reasons Sax still had not identified. He suddenly found himself consuming his forth cup, leaving them stacked up as he moved his fingers to circle his forehead. This sudden sense of light-headedness was strange, was he tired? Not holding enough energy? He chose to ignore it, much like injuries of battle to simply linger on them is to let them hinder your progress.
Snare seemed to be enjoying himself at least, for a one armed namekian who was exhausted not a few hours ago he was back on his feet in no time, he handled himself easily in comparison to all those years ago. 'So, we are going to play with those people I presume?' He had some time to examine them more specifically now, they seemed to be in possession of both the cards and the zenni with Snare desired. 'They seem to be making fundamental flaws however.' He claimed happily as he finished another cup, exhaling sharply as his body told him that was enough for now.

Snare completely ignored Saxophone as he ranted. It wasn't because he was being an asshole, or maybe that was really why, but it was just because he really wasn't saying anything interesting to comment on. That and whenever he seemed to ask a question, one he wanted an answer to, he wouldn't even wait for Snare to answer before moving on to some other topic. So he left him be, the easiest and simplest thing to do in the situation; the card would help him out enough, instead he busied himself with careful sips of sake and watching the players. He could see the way the cards were arranged, along with one of the trio's hand. With that he easily noticed that they were playing texas hold 'em. Now Snare wasn't one to brag - well that's what he liked to say just for the sake of it - but he was actually quite good at the game. It was a wonder what hours and hours of time with cards could do to a person. It was also quite sad.
While Sax continued to read and rant, Snare merely watched. From what he could tell, which was hard enough as it was at this distance, was that they seemed to be rather passive and amateurs. But really, what could he see from here? Simple answer: not much, not much at all. He noted who was winning, and was sure that he would have to observe his play style a bit more if he was going to flop him. Sax broke his musings, slowly stirring him from the uncharacteristic trait of calculating. "Yep, those are the poor fish we're gonna end up robbing. Guys probably just play for fun; sucks for them." He downed the rest of his sake cup, grinning like an animal who had just spotted his prey. He placed the cup down, and pushed himself off of the side. "What exactly do you know about flaws in card games, let alone texas hold 'em? Hmmm?" He said with mild curiosity. He didn't expect much, but he also didn't think that the silly card actually had any information on them besides what numbers meant what. Oh well, it would save him a bunch of time and effort if he didn't have to explain what a river was, how to get a flush, the key factor of luck, betting, dealing chip, other such shit. Easy going.
"Well since 'ya know enough already, how 'bout we head over there and start it up?" Snare mused rhetorically, passing two hundred zenni to Sax; probably just enough to get a decent start. Without waiting for a reply the younger namekian set forward, stalking over to the table at a slow pace. The main reason for that was to be sure to watch the plays, to see how everyone reacted. Seconds later he stopped at the table, getting a few bewildered and quizzical faces. He gave a smirk in return. "Texas Hold 'Em? got room for two more players?" They all gave each other a silent look before gesturing to the round table with acceptance. Snare set himself down at the table, crossing his legs. He was passed the dealer chip, and so he grabbed the deck of cards. The little ante and big one were placed down as Snare began to deal two cards to each player before placing three down in the middle face down. He picked up the two cards in his hand and pursed his lips slightly. A four of clubs and an eight of spades; nothing good. Placing down ten zenni he prepared himself for the next stage, waiting for everyone else's reactions.

Sax examined the group carefully as he subconsciously moved his hand over the table for another cup, the bartender slowly edging one into his hand as he took it almost against his bodies will and downed it in an instant. 'I know.. Exactly..' He wobbled a little as he tried to make firm footing from something as simple as a repositioning of himself by the bar, taking a deep breath before repeating himself. 'I know exactly what this game is now..' He pointed to the ground, blinking a little as his vision seemed to imply the table was miles away. 'I.. Was watching them closely before they moved there table all the way over there...' Before he noticed Snare seemed to have already advanced on the patrons, Sax following close behind with a confident grin on his face and everything he needed to know locked up in that big head of his. It took a moment for the group to accept them and allow them to sit down, Sax taking the available seat which was made beside Snare, cracking his neck from side to side as he examined the process like a student ready to learn.
He watched Snare like a hawk, The chips, the cards, the deck... Snare seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Truth be told a guy who'd been around the planet for nearly five years as a slave must now his odds and ends about making what seemed to be some sort of valuable exchanging item. Snare seemed to have a lot of it, and it seemed to be desired in most situations, was it some kind of means to value worth of something or even someone? Either way it seemed almost required of him to have some also, all of this concentrating on Snare's actions left him a little dumbfounded the the actions that had taken place, before he knew it he had some cards in his hand and everyone was looking at him to see what he was going to do with himself. 'Huh..' He looked down to his cards, a queen and jack of clubs? His mind did the rest of the work for him as his body was almost shutting down from the sake, leaving him to slouch in his chair and exhale unnaturally often. He looked down to his chips, looked like he had to use these..
He placed his piece on the table, it seemed not many others wanted to back out either. The aim of the game was to win though, not constantly raise.. Why would people want to fake at the risk of losing this.. Zenni, everyone wanted so much. He looked to Snare for his next action, more than eager to learn something from his old student for once.

Snare could feel Saxophone's inquisitive gaze on him like daggers in his side. On one hand he was quite happy with the turn of events; for once Sax was looking to him for guidance, gauging his reactions as a basis for his own. It was brilliant really, empowering even. If he wanted to, he could probably convince the older namekian to do something completely uncharacteristic and stupid. Oh wait. He chuckled lightly, remembering what he had already did; slyly convinced and suggested the man to down several cups of sake. Snare couldn't wait to see how that turned out, especially considering this was Sax's first taste of alcohol and the shit hit someone like a brick wall. He wouldn't be surprised to see the guy just blank out, possibly even slam his face against the table or the floor. It would be something deserving of a picture, something completely priceless. He was getting giddy at the fact, humorously so.
Despite the oncoming enjoyment for probably everyone at this table, Snare was still slightly irritated by Sax's staring; the other side of the coin. His behaviour was mockingly silly, child like even. And if there was one thing that Snare could not wrap his head around, one thing that drove him mad with insanity, confusion, and disbelief; that was children and their stupid innocent eyes and grubby, sticky fingers. He shuddered at the thought, briefly remembering his first encounter with one of those stubby human children. Sadly enough, the small things actually scared Snare slightly. They seemed to hold no restraint, no restrictions, and they all possessed millions upon millions of questions. Really, he didn't know why everyone on this hell hole wanted to reproduce to make one of those... creatures.
But this was no time to be annoyed by Sax's gaze, nor think of those small little beings of annoyance; now was time for poker. Snare glanced around the table with his dark gaze, eyeing each person subtly but carefully with his eyes. Everyone had a tell, it was just having to pay close enough attention to find out exactly what that was. Eventually everyone went about their turns, only one dropping out. A very passive player apparently. He let a slight confident smirk curve his green maw, a canine glinting in the faint lighting above. The younger namekian grabbed the cards in the middle of the table, flipping them over as the beginning of the flop. There was a five of spades, ace of spades, and seven of hearts. He peeked at his cards once more, lifting the edges of the downed cards with his only available hand. It was habit really, he already knew his cards off by heart. The turn passed through; one of them folded, the remaining one checked. When it came to Snare's turn he raised, placing down a twenty rather than a ten. That was enough to cause the man to fuck off and fold. He placed his piercing gaze on Sax, waiting for his response with a grin.

The game was oddly quiet, he expected profanity from the humans and more so from Snare. He didn't really make much eye contact with the other players either, it seemed the whole concept of being a trickster and playing bluff just didn't occur to him, he was too busy watching his own hands and Snares actions after all. He had his plan before him, from what had been displayed the cards in his hands still had a chance of doing nothing at all, Snare for once was concealing his emotions and was neigh on help with his situation. The other men had gone from contemplating folding to checking, their process took nearly twice as much time as his and Snares, maybe it was because they were planning more? Surely they had a more experienced grasp on things than Sax did... And Snare, well, maybe he was just being confident. That had to be it then, Sax stuck to his guns and focused on his next action as the table slowly cycled around to his go once more, he had to choose how much bluffing was worth and ride with Snare in his next turn of the table.
It was close to his go, he had to just match whatever Snare had right? Even if he lost there was still a chance that he could just have the better useless hand out of the both of them. Something was messing with his state of mind however, a stir in his common logic, he wasn't sure whether it came with the concentration of the game or the feelings which came with playing. Though he could easily mask the sudden encumbrance his body brought and the slurring thoughts which stretched over his mind, it sure as hell wasn't helping his performance.
His senses began to tingle, his antenna twitching as even the smallest of noises sounded like they were meant just for him. It seemed his go was up, his body and the rest of his sanity took over as it felt almost as if someone was moving his limbs as he placed the matching 20 on the table, looking to Snare with a half-assed grin. His body began to slouch slightly as if he was going to go to sleep, his training senses forcing himself back into posture as his face remained nothing but straight and blank on the next card which was going to be placed. It looked like they were running short of participants even though they were so early into the game, oddly enough Sax imagined that it would be an act of stubborn brothers holding onto nothing every round though.

It was times like these he wished he had taken up his village elder's offer to learn telepathy(he had only denied it because it took far too long and too much concentration). Then he could win this game without any effort, and at the same time prove how much better and awesome he was in comparison to Saxophone. But there lacked a challenge, and without it there would be that powerful and odd satisfaction with the victory if it was won fair and square; stupid idiom aside. Snare still, however, felt that this would be a shamefully easy win on his part, without even the slightest of challenges. He wasn't one who loved easy winnings, but he wasn't too far up his own ass to not take the chance at a perfect opportunity. He would be able to hold this complete domination over Sax's head forever; bragging rights included. Perfect, really.
The younger namekian's musings were cut short. His eyes sharpened as he watched Sax shift on the floor. Was that the older namekian's tell, a shift? Was it even possible to have a rather subtle tell as a newbie? He watched carefully as Sax continued to shift-... wait, no, he was swaying. Snare's brows rose, fleeting surprise flickering through. Was he begginning to feel the intoxication now, so soon? And he wasn't saying anything about the protesting feeling? Apparently so, his mind unhelpfully supplied. If it had been possible his brows would have shifted even more, rather his jaw dropped just far enough for the purple flesh and muscle of his maw to be visable. Not only as the guy becoming drunk, he also went along with Snare's raise; slapping down a twenty. Normally the spotted namekian would be overjoyed at the thought of someone keeping up with him, but in this scenario if he won all that would happen is that he would earn money that was already his. So instead he just stuck with being surprised, if not a little proud for the older namekian's gall. He smirked, ready for chance to reveal itself.
"Here goes nothin' Sax," Snare drawled lazily, grabbing the top of card on the worn deck with his single hand. His fingers deftly flipped it as he placed it next to the flop, creating the turn. He smirked, more for show than anything, as he looked at the Jack of Spades. "Not bad," he mused, his voice reeking of undiluted confidemce. "I'll raise ya a ten," he slapped ten zenni into the pot(which was looking rather nice just about now), "and see if you be reasonable and cut yer' loses." Snare drummed his fingers against the low table, creating a simple beat to match the silent music of his head. He grinned ear to ear at the intoxicated Saxophone, watching him like an eagle would it's prey. "So what's it gonna be new blood?" He requested smoothly. "Gonna fold 'em or take me to the final draw?" Snare's voice was light and calm, albeit deep due to his vocals. It suggested that he had the perfect lineup. So maybe that wasn't true, yet, but chance had a tendency to favour him at the last possible second; to have him survive.[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0px,true][cs=2][atrb=vAlign, bottom][atrb=style, width: 420px; background: url('http://i.imgur.com/gdBBi.png'); -moz-border-radius: 0px 0px 30px 30px; -o-border-radius: 0px 0px 30px 30px; border-radius: 0px 0px 30px 30px; -webkit-border-radius: 0px 0px 30px 30px;] [style=font-size: 26px; font-family: verdana; color: #9cb55f; text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #b7b7b7; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: -5px;]but how we survive[/style][style=background: #b2cf6d; opacity: 0.6; font-family: verdana; font-size: 8px; letter-spacing: 4px; text-align: justify; -moz-border-radius: 15px; -webkit-border-radius: 15px; -o-border-radius: 15px; border-radius: 15px; padding: 2px; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; color: #ffffff;]is what makes us who we are[/style] |

What the hell did he think he was doing? He was going to openly be displeased in a game of secrecy and concealment? He shuffled slightly as he made it just look like he was adjusting in his seat, no doubt Snare would take that as some urge for proceeding though this was Snare he was thinking about, the guy would have taken anything as a reason to proceed. He flicked his eyes back and froth from the cards on the table to the ones in his hands, making quick passes as Snare who seemed to favour a big grin along with multiple passes of curiosity. Was this an attempt to goad the guy? He had seen it happen to others but never to him directly, when it came to any kind of competition words were usually scarce and followed by attacks, it was strange seeing Snare like this. He took a moment to clarify his decision, whatever he did was going to usher further insulting gestures from his brother anyway.
The others were watching, only a few seconds had passed since he had started boggling his brain. He put on a big grin, giving a light nod to his brother's questions in general and gently sliding another ten to the center of the table. Since when was he so confident? His actions were quick to move before his brain had even considered putting them into action. All of these motions of pride and sloppy thinking, what could have been the cause? He glared down to the many cups lining the bar ready to be cleaned, they were all his... Oh dear. 'Ain't going down that easily..' A recycled sparring comment kept his mind intact and his image around the others still sane while the drinks influence began working away at his sight and position. He couldn't let something as simple as liquid with strange qualities take him down though, he had faced aliens! Battled things thrice his size! And something no bigger than the palm of his hand was going to be his demise?
He wrapped his legs around the chair, leaning forward slightly as he mimicked Snares approach to card covering after realising how much more effective it was. He furrowed his brows and stared sharply at the deck, giving a light nod. 'Final stand, brother.' The others seemed quite eager too, a fight between two unknown participants as they themselves did not know if victory was guaranteed. Sax knew though, he knew that if something lucky was pulled out of that deck then he was going to have another round of keeping a straight face on his hands... Maybe he should instil confidence? Reinforce his bluff? 'Wait..' He raised his one hand, moving his other to grab another five from his stash of chips. 'Raise five.' He followed with a grin, using his head to gesture Snare's response.
He felt like he was getting the hang of this, and it was only the first round. | [cs=2][bg=8c76bb][STYLE=text-align: center;font-size: 10px;]Notes: N/A Tagged: Snare Word Count: 545 | [STYLE=font-family: arial narrow; font-size: 13px; text-align: center;]template by pianissimo of BTN and LS |

At this point he had basically forgotten about the trio of humans at the table; they had dropped out already, why acknowledge them? His brow shifted slightly, giving the elder a quizzical look as he shifted and thought. The younger namekian scoffed, believing the poor newbie bastard was thinking far too much for this game. After all, this was not a game of logic and reason, but a game of chance. Sure Texas Hold 'Em required thought, but it's not as though said thought could change how lucky one was or the draw of the cards. That was complete rubbish, and he knew it from experience; believing in cards was pointless. Sax continued to shift and sway on the floor, probably drawing the attention of everybody at the table. Snare briefly wondered if the older of the duo reacted to alcohol differently than himself; it wouldn't be surprising, Snare did not share the same genes as Sax or even any namekian.
Growing bored rather quickly, especially with this waiting game, his eyes wandered over to the small bar. He could go for a few more cups; just enough to dumb him down enough for time to fly. Holy crap, Sax was taking forever. He brought his gaze back to the older one, a pleading look on his face. His prayers seemed answered for he was met with a raise to his... well, raise/ The guy was being rather cocky now eh? Probably meant he thought he had a good hand now. Oh well, two could play that game, Snare definitely better. He replaced the smirk on his face once more, his voice easy and soft. "Well then, I'll meet your raise." With that he lightly tossed a five into the pot, matching up to Saxophone's ten. Now, the pot probably consisted of sixty bucks between the two of them, and maybe twenty from the trio of faceless humans. Snare tried to not think too much on how he would just be winning his own money. It could drive him crazy.
"Guess you're ready to learn how the masters play this game." He quipped half-heartedly, a disinterested look crossing his face; it suggested as though he had already won this, as though he had no worries. He fearlessly reached for the deck, once more going through the motions of grabbing the top card and flipping it over to create a River. His mask faltered briefly, surprise etching itself into his brows as he stared at the six of hearts. The emotion wasn't exactly a shining trait of a poker player, but he couldn't help it nor even believe it. Usually he would have to bluff himself from hell and back for any sort of victory, but now things were different, and in a good way. He looked at Sax curiously with his black eyes, wondering how the guy was doing. It was to no avail of course; the guy's face was naturally one made for poker. So instead he peeked at his cards, reassuring himself the truth, and smirking at no one in particular. Now he had a choice, and interesting one too. He doubted Sax had a better hand, which meant he could win this easily. So what did he want to do?
The spotted namekian let out a high pitched whistle, gaining everyone's attention; including the bartender he was looking at. A victory drink was due. "Hey, could I get another cup?" He asked lazily, voice drawling as he made the motion of drinking with his only hand. The man behind the bar gave a slight nod, filling a cup. He walked over efficiently, placing the saucer like cup on the table before silently retreating. Snare grabbed the cup, balancing it in his hand before slopping it down in a gulp. He let out a sigh of contentment, ignore the sharp pain, and he came to his conclusion. He would not go all in and wipe Sax clean just yet, he wanted the pleasure of beating him over and over again. He would be able to rub it in the poor bastard's face for decades to come. So he did something more reasonable, familiar. "I'll raise you a five. Ready to see who's king?" Snare added playfully, slapping five more Zenni down into the pot. If Sax continued with it, he would probably have just over a hundred zenni for the next round. Hell, he'll probably get kicked out too if he kept it up. The younger one prepared to flip his two cards over, waiting for both Saxophone's words and actions. This would be good.[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0px,true][cs=2][atrb=vAlign, bottom][atrb=style, width: 420px; background: url('http://i.imgur.com/gdBBi.png'); -moz-border-radius: 0px 0px 30px 30px; -o-border-radius: 0px 0px 30px 30px; border-radius: 0px 0px 30px 30px; -webkit-border-radius: 0px 0px 30px 30px;] [style=font-size: 26px; font-family: verdana; color: #9cb55f; text-shadow: 2px 2px 5px #b7b7b7; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: -5px;]but how we survive[/style][style=background: #b2cf6d; opacity: 0.6; font-family: verdana; font-size: 8px; letter-spacing: 4px; text-align: justify; -moz-border-radius: 15px; -webkit-border-radius: 15px; -o-border-radius: 15px; border-radius: 15px; padding: 2px; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; color: #ffffff;]is what makes us who we are[/style] |

None the less his former student had called on his raise, stacking their own funds higher than that of the participants by a fair bit now, the competition seemed more than eager to just watch the two tall green men duke it out with reckless plays. Sax re-traced the combinations in his mind, peeking at his cards then back to the table. All he had was a pair, a measly pair if he remembered correctly, Snare could easily have better than him... Though then again he could have nothing at all. Snare moved to create the river, Sax instead focusing on his brothers face from the corner of his eye before looking at the drawn card, there had to be a sign of weakness somewhere, Snare was always one to express his feelings. His face seemed to change, but he seemed happy rather than worried, how was he supposed to work with a strange face like that!? He grunted from the failure of his attempt, he was in as much unknown now as he was before, and to top it all off he still couldn't stop swaying!
He leaned forward, placing his arms and part of his body against the table to look more determined in the final showdown. He raised a brow to his brothers request for more drinks, it was safe to say he wasn't having another cup of that poison now that he learnt of its qualities, Snare was going to get it once they were back on the road that's for sure. He eye balled the younger namekian as he collected his drink, taking it down and contemplating about his move all the while, or at least Sax hoped he was. No time was spared, his brother moved another five to the center with a common tease to match, what kind of hand did this guy have? Sax knew he was simply bluffing his way through this entire first hand and Snare was matching him chip for chip, but he couldn't back down now, that look in Snares eyes told him he would never live this day down if he did. 'Alright then, I'll match.' He said calmly and more Sax-like, flicking the chip into the pile and pushing his face down cards towards the center. 'You must have a pretty good hand.' He shook his head, he sure as hell didn't. He flicked his fingers underneath the cards, spinning them over and firmly placing his fingers down on them to reveal the not so efficient duo. 'One pair, I believe.' The other participants nodded to the newbie, giving him the benefit of the doubt. The table looked to Snare with curious eyes, Sax more so than all of them.
'Well then brother, Is this mine?'
