--------------------------------------------------------------- |
It is important to understand that while Power Levels are correlated to strength, they do not dictate ability in everything. Having a higher power level does not necessarily mean that you are faster than your opponent, or that your punches have a bigger impact. It can mean that, but it is nothing definitive. The following system is optional at the moment but highly encouraged.
Our Solution
Character Specializations
Characters can be further customized by character specializations. Each character has four categories between which the points that make up their power level can be divided. It is important to remember that these specializations are not supposed to serve as concrete stats. They do not determine whether you can win a your fights or whether you should be taken out in one punch. The intention of these specializations is only to help you compare yourself to your opponent in these given categories and to help make it feel like a power level does not determine every aspect about your character's strength. It is also important to remember that not all of your abilities will fall into one of the categories below, and that is okay. Again, these categories are incredibly general and are only meant to help with comparison in some of the most commonly disputed areas.
The categories are:
- Strength; The power behind physical attacks. This helps to gauge the strength of your punches, kicks, sword strokes, bites, and other forms of physical combat.
- Ki Blasts; The power of ki blasts and other specialized ki techniques. This includes the strength of auras.
- Magic; The general strength of magical abilities. Magical abilities are powers which do not require the use of ki, but sometimes still have similar effects. This includes making magical shields, mind control, hypnosis shapeshifting, or turning people into carrots (in Master Carrot's case).
- Speed; This is the speed displayed. This includes skills such as evasion and reaction-time. However, more importantly, it denotes how quickly one can run or fly.
Where?
In your signature, you will place the following template:Strength: value here
Ki: value here
Magic: value here
Speed: value here
The values you place in each should add up to your power level. You get full customization over your character in this effort. Using this system is optional and it is not required for you to separate these categories, however, there will be items in the shop that will not be usable for you if you do not use this skill system.
