After the tournament, Tien knew that some extreme training was in order, so he had gone to the one place that he was sure that he could get some real results in a short period of time. Bulma Briefs was an old friend who had a gravity chamber that would increase the pressure on the body, and Tien had scraped together enough money to get inside of it for a short period of time. He entered the room as quickly as possible with his already weighed down clothing on and turned on the machine, and the change was felt by his body in an instant. Tien was so affected by the room that he fell to his knees almost immediately, and now he knew that he was going to have to work even harder to make sure that he was ready for anything that was thrown at him during the tournament.
The three-eyed fighter crawled to the center of the room and began doing push-ups to slowly get used to the room’s effects. “It probably wasn’t that smart to start off in weighted clothing, but I guess that is where the expression ‘No pain, no gain’ comes from.”As soon as he reached five hundred doing normal push-ups, Tien switched over to the harder version that required him to balance on his index finger while going up and down. Within minutes, there was a pool of sweat beneath him from the exertion of his work out. Each passing moment felt like someone was transforming parts of his body into stone, but Tien was unsure if that was due to exhaustion or the room’s gravity effects. It didn’t seem to matter as it was starting to get easier to perform a push-up of this design, but Tien knew that it was time to take it up a notch.
Tien readjusted his hands so that he was balancing on his feet and his palms, and then he kicked off the ground so that he was only on his palms. He then proceeded to doing handstand push-ups, which were a lot harder on the body since all the weight was on the hands. “I can’t stop until I am strong enough to be of some real use against the likes of Frieza and these Saiyans.” This training was just about getting stronger though; Tien was using it as a punishment. His belief in training alone was the best way had caused him not to be there for his friends during an important event, and Yamcha had died. No matter what it took, Tien was going to make up for that by becoming powerful enough to vanquish the one that had killed Yamcha.
